NEW BEDFORD — Another fire was reported in New Bedford early Thursday morning. However, this fire was in the South End, unlike the three suspicious fires reported earlier this week in the near North End.

Police received a report of a motor vehicle fire at 1:44 a.m. Thursday at the 90-block of Jouvette Street. When units responded, the front end of the vehicle was engulfed in flames. The fire could not be extinguished until fire apparatus arrived.

No injuries were reported.

Police would not say if the fire is considered suspicious, but did acknowledge that police and fire officials are investigating.

There have been 10 suspicious fires in New Bedford since June, including five car fires.
