Car Accident, Shooting Injures Two In Taunton

Two men were injured following a shooting and car accident in Taunton.

Taunton Police say that at 11:04 p.m Sunday officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident at 5 Hart St.

Gunshots were also reported in the area.

Upon arrival officers found a vehicle that went off the road and crashed into a yard.

Officers then located the two occupants of the vehicle on Plain St. suffering from gunshot wounds.

One of the occupants, identified as a 27-year-old male, was transported to Morton Hospital.

The other occupant, identified as 28-year-ol male was transported to Rhode Island Hospital.

Both of the victims' injuries are considered non-life threatening.

Police say the victim's vehicle was fired upon from a second vehicle that was believed to be behind them.

A crime scene was set up on Plain St. and Plymouth BCI responded to document evidence of the shooting.

A bullet also struck a second vehicle that was not involved in the incident. but no one in that vehicle was injured.

The incident is being investigated by the Taunton Police Detective Division.
