Ashumet Pond in Mashpee Drowning Victim Found

Dive teams from local fire departments found the body of 43 year old Dwayne Morris of East Falmouth Sunday afternoon. He drowned at Ashumet Pond in Mashpee Saturday afternoon. According to Mashpee Fire Officials, Morris dove into the water without a life preserver. Environmental Police, State Police, and a Coast Guard helicopter assisted in the search.

It's believed Morris was already in the water at the time of the incident, and did not fall out of a boat. The Cape and Island District Attorney's Office is also part of the investigation.
