Get ready for an exciting journey with Buzzards Bay Coalition's annual Seal & Seabird Cruise.

The program is extended through June, offering six opportunities to experience the wonders of Buzzards Bay and Vineyard Sound.

Climb aboard with the Cuttyhunk Ferry Company to explore the rich marine life of these waters on March 16, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The best part is you only have to travel to the New Bedford waterfront.

Here's a detailed itinerary of BBC's Seal & Seabird Cruise to ensure you have a fulfilling experience.

10 a.m. - Boarding and Departure from New Bedford:
Take in the breathtaking views of Buzzards Bay as you make your way towards BBC's wildlife adventure.

11 a.m. - Seal Viewing Experience:
Listen to expert commentary on wintering seals and seabirds. Get up close for observation and photography opportunities and learn about the behaviors and habitats of these playful mammals.

Noon - Arrival at Cuttyhunk:
Disembark on Cuttyhunk. From here you'll get to choose from three exploration options:

  • A guided hike to the island's highest point for a panoramic view.
  • A self-guided walk along Barges Beach for a relaxing beach experience.
  • Wander freely around the island at your own pace.

1 p.m. - Boarding and Departure from Cuttyhunk:
Gather for departure from the island and re-board the ferry.

2 p.m. - Return to New Bedford:
Cruise back with a chance for additional wildlife sightings. Relax, share experiences and enjoy the journey.

Dress warmly and bring binoculars for the best wildlife viewing. An indoor heated area is available on the ferry, but deck views are recommended. Hot dogs, chips, soda, beer and wine are available for purchase on the ferry but participants are encouraged to bring their lunch, snacks and beverages as no stores are open on the island.

The cruise may be canceled in bad weather in which case ticketholders will be notified and refunded.
