While reading Brothers Forever: The Enduring Bond Between A Marine And A Navy Seal That Transcended Their Ultimate Sacrifice by Tom Sileo and Colonel Tom Manion, many images of friendship, love, endurance, hope and courage came to mind.

All of us realize that when we find a special person in our lives who accepts us for who we are and pushes us to be our very best, we have found an unbreakable bond that will last a lifetime. Travis Manion and Brendan Looney share such a friendship in Brothers Forever. They were present for each other for every milestone in their lives.

Throughout this book, I couldn't help but think of all the people who have been there for me during my darkest moments to make me laugh and encourage me to continue towards my goal.

This book gave me pause when Joel Sharratt asked Travis and Stann, another U.S. Marine to do an exercise. Sharrett said, "A friend picks you up and takes you to a place where people are somber, crying, and there seems to be an audience. Then you realize that you're at your own funeral. Write down a few words about what you'd want a family member or person of faith to say when reflecting on the lives of Travis Manion or Brian Stann."

What would I say? Hopefully, my life's accomplishments have inspired others to do something meaningful with their lives.

If you are unsure what you would say, then read about the enduring bond of Travis Manion and Brendan Looney. Their story will steer you in the direction you want to go.
