BOURNE — A man was MedFlighted to Rhode Island Hospital Tuesday afternoon after suffering a possible amputation of his right hand while working with a log splitter.

The Bourne Fire Department responded to a Portside Drive location just before 12:30 p.m. on March 9 for a report of a person with a traumatic injury. The ambulance crew arrived to find the 38-year-old male victim with a severe injury to his right hand.

The victim was transported to the MedFlight landing zone at the Pocasset ballfield on Barlows Landing Road and was flown to Rhode Island Hospital.
