Boston Fire Chief Steve Abraira Resigns

Facebook

After some criticism of how he handled things during the events of the Boston Marathon Bombings, the now former Boston fire chief Steve Abraira has resigned his position.

Back in April, Abraira’s deputy’s sent a letter to Mayor Tom Menino statign that they had no confidence in him. According to WCVB, in the letter, the deputies stated that “Abraira failed to assume command responsibility or show leadership when he showed up at the scene of the April 15 explosions that killed three.”

However, Abraira disputes the vote of no confidence, and maintains that he had control of the situation once he arrived on the scene. His resignation is effective as of June 7.
