Republican Charlie Baker and Democrat Martha Coakley made their final pitches to voters in a televised debate.

During Tuesday's match-up, the two laid out their plans for job growth, the best response to Ebola, the proliferation of outside political ads, and how the state should cope with immigrants who are in the country illegally.

They also sparred on Coakley's role in the investigation of former Democratic House Speaker Salvatore DiMasi and Baker's $10,000 donation to the New Jersey Republican Party in 2011.

The final televised debate, sponsored by a media consortium, is particularly critical for Coakley who's trying to shake off the perception her campaign may be losing momentum.

The three independent candidates — Evan Falchuk, Jeff McCormick and Scott Lively — weren't invited.

The election is Nov. 4.
