Hundreds of Catholics gathered outside St. Mary's Cathedral in Fall River Monday night for a Columbus Day tradition.

The Diocese of Fall River held its annual Candlelight Procession and Mass for Peace.

This marked the biggest mass for Bishop Edgar Da Cunha since he was installed last month. He says he couldn't be more happy to celebrate with his new community.

Marchers walked from the Cathedral to Saint Anne's Church while holding candles and singing hymns in various languages. They also recited the rosary and carried flags in honor of the Virgin Mary.

This celebration has been celebrated in the city since 1975.
