A drug sweep in New Bedford results in the arrest of 13 people.

Lt. Amos Melo says the sweep took place in the North End Thursday afternoon.

The suspects are being identified as New Bedford residents 45-year-old Maria Albassan who is being charged with Possession of class A Heroin and Possession of class A Heroin subsequent offense; 23-year-old Crystal Metta who is being charged with Possession of class B Cocaine and Conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws; 27-year-old Luis Melo who is being charged with Possession of class B Cocaine and Conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws; 33-year-old Richard G. Arce who is being charged with Possession of class B Cocaine; 48-year-old Jaqueline Dupuis-Pike who is being charged with Possession of class A Heroin and Conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws; 28-year-old Timothy Wendenroth ho is being charged with Possession of class E (Fioricet) pills; 36-year-old Jonathan Chicoine who is being charged with Possession of class B Cocaine and Conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws; 35-year-old Kenneth James Nelson II who is being charged with Possession of class B suboxone, Possession of class A Heroin, and Conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws; 22-year-old Ashley Sylvia who is being charged with Possession of class B Cocaine and Conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws; 20-year-old Roger Wayne Cook who is being charged with Possession of class B Cocaine; and 33-year-old John David Dangora who is being charged with Possession of class B Cocaine and Possession of class A Heroin.

Also arrested in the sweep was 47-year-old Linus Eldridge of Exeter who is being charged with Possession of class A Heroin and Conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws.

Along with 26-year-old Ryan P. Walker of Dartmouth who is being charged with Possession of class B Cocaine.

The 13 suspects were scheduled to be arraigned on Friday.
