Mini Zebu Cows Make Their Adorable Debut at Mattapoisett Farm
These two Mattapoisett newbies are too "udderly" adorable.
Introducing Woody and Jessie! This pair is the latest addition to a whole gang of remarkable animals living on a local SouthCoast farm. Pine Meadow Alpacas, located on Marion Road in Mattapoisett, recently welcomed the pair of mini Zebu cow twins to the farm from upper Massachusetts. At just three months old, Woody and Jessie are currently being bottle-fed by the folks at Pine Meadow, after the cows' mother rejected them.
The twins are still fairly new to the farm family in Mattapoisett, but are beginning to warm up, and are obviously just too adorable for words.
"They’re wicked cute and have become really friendly," the family with Pine Meadow Alpacas said.
Because Woody and Jessie are mini Zebu cows, they're pretty small at the moment, and won't get a whole lot bigger. The folks at Pine Meadow Alpacas expect that the cows will likely stay under three feet tall. I mean, just look at how tiny they look next to some of the farm's other bovine!
Pine Meadow Alpacas is home to a wide variety of animals here on the SouthCoast, from donkeys and a porcupine to goats, alpacas, and so many others. The farm even welcomed a bunch of new baby goats earlier this year during kidding season.
While Pine Meadow is currently closed to the public as they travel from fair to fair, the farm will be reopening in early fall for tours and visits.
