A New Bedford woman has been sentenced to state prison after pleading guilty to two counts of armed robbery.

25-year-old Devyn Stone was charged for robbing the Fairhaven Comcast store at gunpoint in 2011. Witnesses to the crime initially described Stone as a short, thin, white male in his early twenties.

After the robbery, employees at a nearby Walgreens Pharmacy reported a suspicious male wearing women's makeup had just left their store that matched the description of the Comcast robbery suspect.

Police recovered discarded clothing found behind a local cafe and sent it to a crime lab for DNA analysis. The DNA matched Devyn Stone, who was arrested in 2015.

Stone was sentenced last week to serve three to five years in prison.

Stone was charged with two counts of armed robbery since two clerks were victimized.
