Woman in Fatal Crash with Somerset Police Cruiser is Identified

SOMERSET — Authorities have identified the woman who was killed early Friday morning as the result of a head-on crash involving a Somerset Police cruiser.

The Bristol County District Attorney's Office says Hailey Allard, 20, of Somerset, was driving a green Honda Civic on Route 138 when she collided with a marked Somerset Police cruiser at about 12:35 a.m.

Responding officers found Allard's vehicle facing south in the northbound lane of Route 138.

Allard was transported to Charlton Memorial Hospital where she later died.

The officer was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He has been released.

The accident remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police Assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office.
