Woman Found on Golf Course Identified

Dartmouth Police Detectives have identified the body of the woman found earlier this week at a local golf course.

The woman is identified as 52-year-old Fernanda Mariano of New Bedford.

Mariano was found unresponsive Monday afternoon at the Country Club of New Bedford. She was transported to Charlton Memorial Hospital where she was declared dead.

The Medical Examiner has yet to release the cause of death, and there is no indication that foul play was involved.

Police say descriptions given out to the general public by the media led to a tip that assisted in positively identifying Mariano.
