Emergency personnel responded to a five-alarm incident in Westport Thursday night, but there was no fire. Police and firefighters from all over Bristol County participated in the annual chicken wing-eating contest at White's of Westport to benefit the Children's Advocacy Center.

The contest expanded to all Bristol County departments this year, along with the traditional rivalry between New Bedford and Fall River. Police and firefighters from the Whaling City defeated their counterparts in Fall River, and took home the coveted "Fire-Breathing Chicken Trophy" back to their department.

Other police departments earning trophys included Swansea, Somerset, Taunton, Mansfield and Acushnet.  On the night, just over $3,200 was raised for the C-A-C.

The Children's Advocacy Center provides forensic, health, medical, and support services to children who have been victims of sexual abuse and violence. April is Child Abuse Prevention Month.
