Some parents might not have it in their budget to buy their kids lavish gifts this Christmas. So when it comes time for the little ones to open gifts from Santa, they might discover a new hat and a pair of gloves. How would they respond to finding out their best friend from school received a Play Station 4 from Santa, with all the bells and whistles? One mommy blogger on Facebook says smaller gifts should be marked “From Santa,” while parents take the credit for more extravagant presents. This prevents children from feel discriminated by Kris Kringle.

I think this Facebook post brought something to my attention that I overlooked. Santa is a beautiful spirit who loves kids. He believes all children are equal, and does not favor one over the other. So why is it that we make the Christmas icon responsible for any child to possibly feel left out? Maybe there is something to this idea.
