Every entrepreneur has a vision for their business no matter how big or small that business is. Having a goal is an easy way to stay motivated and remind yourself to keep working hard to achieve your dream. Thomas Jefferson once wisely said, “never spend your money before you have earned it.” This is a good thing to keep in mind when it comes to running a business because you have to make sure that you have enough to cover the cost of the thing you want. Ask your youth about their vision for their lemonade day or small business, their goals, and the future!

First, determine your “Spending Goals.” What would you like to buy for yourself right now? Is it something you really want or really need? Figure out how you will reward yourself for all of your hard work when Lemonade Day is over.

When I have a goal in mind, it’s all I can think about. I can picture it in my mind. Can you see your goal? Is it a short-term goal like a bike or video game? Is it a long-term goal like college or summer camp? Can you describe it to your mom and dad, draw a picture of it, and hang it somewhere for you to look at it every day? That’s what a vision board does. It’s a way for you to organize your goals visually and let you focus on it so you can achieve them.

Whatever your goal is, you can use this Vision Board Template to help you reach it. It’s a fun project that lets you create a clear plan for what you want your business to do for you.
