
Tiverton Firefighters Surprise Local Kids at Lemonade Stand
It's not summer on the SouthCoast without a local lemonade stand.

Putting the table on the side of the road, mixing up a pitcher of bright-yellow lemonade and making signs to promote the refreshing treat are some of the things kids look forward to each year.
That's what some local kids in Tiverton did recently. Their attempt to attract customers clearly worked when they were surprised by some local heroes.
Tiverton Fire Department Stops By
Members of the Tiverton Fire Department noticed the stand on the corner of the road and stopped by to cool off.

Yes, they brought the fire truck; the reaction was priceless. The parents said their kids were in shock and said "I was so excited my heart stopped!"
The firefighters were all smiles, too. Their small gesture for a couple of Tiverton kids really went a long way.

Lemonade Stand Nostalgia
I still remember the days of having a lemonade stand myself, waiting patiently for someone to stop and make a purchase. It made you feel like a little entrepreneur.
The best part? Getting a crisp dollar bill. Yes, I'm aging myself, but when you charged 10 cents a cup and a neighbor handed you a dollar and said, "Keep the change," your day was made.
