Westport Police Arrest Man on Drug and Motor Vehicle Offenses
WESTPORT (WBSM) — Westport Police arrested a man early Wednesday after he was allegedly found in possession of drugs.
According to Westport Police, Officer Sean Munzing was on patrol at about 1:38 a.m. on February 5 in the area of State Road. While on patrol, he pulled over a vehicle that passed him after observing that it did not have a front license plate.
Police said that the driver of the vehicle, identified as Walter Brewster Gomes, told Officer Munzing that he did not have his license on him, but that a subsequent query of the license status showed it as suspended.

Gomes was then placed under arrest, and police said that during the booking process, a search of Gomes allegedly turned up a bag of suspected crack cocaine weighing 31 grams, a bag of suspected cocaine weighing 29 grams, and a bag of suspected Adderall pills.
Gomes was charged with one count of trafficking a Class B controlled substance, possession of a Class E substance, and several motor vehicle offenses.
