Westport Man Arrested on Unlicensed Weapon, Driving Charges
BRIDGEWATER — State police arrested a Westport man Thursday after a trooper found a loaded unlicensed gun in his car, which he was also driving without a license.
State police said that at around 8 a.m. on Thursday, Trooper Paul Martin pulled over a black Saab with excessive window tint for speeding on Route 24 north in Bridgewater.
The driver was identified as 34-year-old Montrell Jones of Westport.

According to police, Martin found that Jones did not have a valid driver's license, and confirmed that his window tint was darker than allowed by law.
After requesting a tow truck for Jones' car, Martin searched the vehicle, allegedly discovering a small bag containing a loaded Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol.
Jones does not have a firearms license, state police said, and he has been convicted of illegal possession of a firearm in the past.
He was immediately arrested and charged with two counts of illegally possessing a firearm, possessing a large capacity feeding device, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and illegal window tint.
Jones' case will be heard at Brockton District Court.
