Wasabi Ginger Wins The Lay’s Potato Chip Contest

Wasabi Ginger beat out three competitors to win Lay's annual "Do Us a Flavor" contest and become its newest potato chip flavor.

Wasabi Ginger, submitted by 35-year-old nurse Meneko Spigner McBeth of Pennsylvania, bested Mango Salsa, Cheddar Bacon Mac & Cheese and Cappuccino, all of which had been on sale since late July, allowing people to taste them and then cast their votes.

McBeth will get either $1 million or a percentage of one year of Wasabi Ginger potato chip sales, whichever is more.
