WAREHAM — Wareham Police arrested three people and took suspected heroin and cocaine off the streets.

After receiving multiple citizen complaints Wareham Police Detectives began an investigation of suspected illegal drug activity at 67 Jefferson Shores Road. Detectives gathered information and obtained a search warrant for the residence.

On Monday, June 24, at about 11 a.m., while detectives were conducting surveillance, they observed three people leave the home in a vehicle. Detectives boxed the vehicle in by the entrance to Jefferson Shores Road. Detectives announced that they were serving a search warrant and the three were placed in custody. Located in the vehicle were several baggies of suspected heroin and a white powder consistent with cocaine. In addition, the detectives located a large amount of cash and a cell phone.

After the suspects were arrested, detectives and patrol officers conducted a raid at the residence and collected more evidence of illegal drug activity, including two digital scales. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that people who wanted to purchase narcotics would park at another location and walk along the beach to access the home.

“While people thought they were not being noticed attempting to buy illegal drugs, our detectives were making careful and covert observations to obtain a search warrant and put an end to the suspected illegal activity," Acting Chief John Walcek said.

All three people arrested were residents of 67 Jefferson Shores Road. John Lyons, 43, was charged with conspiracy to violate drug laws, while 34-year-old Latoya Johnson was charged with possession of a Class A drug with intent to distribute, and possession of a Class B drug with intent to distribute. Shauna Ramos, 38, was charged with conspiracy to violate drug laws and operating after the suspension of her driver's license.
