Wareham Police Arrest Two for Alleged Middle School Break-In
WAREHAM (WBSM) — A Wareham man and a New Bedford woman have been arrested for allegedly breaking into Wareham Middle School and stealing a MacBook laptop on Tuesday.
According to Wareham Police, officers responded to an alarm at the school in the early morning hours of August 6. They said officers discovered a broken window and reviewed security footage to find two individuals, a male and a female, had entered the school through the broken window.
Detectives determined that the two had stolen a MacBook.
The male was identified as Jacob Silva, 18, of New Bedford, while the female was identified as Aubrey Ferreira, 19, of New Bedford.
Police said the Wareham Juvenile Detective and a Wareham officer located Silva and Ferreira later in the day in the area of the school property. The two were taken into custody without incident, and police said detectives later located the MacBook at Silva’s residence. It was returned to the school department.
Both Silva and Ferreira were charged with breaking and entering in the nighttime for a felony, malicious destruction of property under $1,200, and larceny from a building.
They were both scheduled to be arraigned today in Wareham Fourth District Court.
