Wareham Land Trust Hosting Family Fun Winter Scavenger Hunt Hike
Finding fun activities for kids of all ages to do during the winter can sometimes be difficult, so the Wareham Land Trust decided to change that.
The Wareham Land Trust has constructed a fun scavenger hunt along the Agawam River Trail to "explore the world of winter critters" that can be found while hiking on the path. As you enter the trail, a complimentary guide will help you learn all about Wareham's wildlife that you just might encounter on your hiking experience that is easy to scan on your phone.
This scavenger hunt kicked off at the beginning of January and will continue on throughout the remainder of the month. Parking can be found at the very end of Knowles Avenue off of Depot Street where the trail entrance begins.

The Wareham Land Trust would like to remind anyone who is interested in this free event that although hunting is not permitted at the Agawam River Trail, visitors should still take extra precaution by wearing bright colors such a "blaze orange."
The idea for this event was originally drawn up by a woman named Jenna Shea. She's a volunteer from TerraCorps, an organization out of Lowell, Massachusetts that "exists to advance land equity, strengthen community land ownership and stewardship practices that support a diversity of interests."
"This is her second year with us as she volunteered last year and then came back this fall for another round," Wareham Land Trust Executive Director Elise Leduc Fleming said. "It's fabulous knowing someone who knows the event and area, especially for an event like this."
Keep an eye out for more events from the Wareham Land Trust as it updates its social media and website accordingly.
