BOSTON (WBSM) — A Wareham man who was arrested last year on child pornography charges pleaded guilty recently in federal court in Boston.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Brandon Bendall, 50, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography and one count of receipt of child pornography.

Details of the Federal Investigation

Prosecutors allege that Bendall was a member of an online chat group designed for sharing child sexual abuse materials (CSAM). Bendall posted at least 17 such videos in the group.

Evidence Uncovered by Investigators

Bendall was arrested on May 2, 2025. A search of his phone turned up approximately 9,400 images and videos of child sexual abuse materials, including images of children as young as infants being sexually assaulted.

In June 2025, Bendall was indicted by a federal grand jury.

Charges and Potential Sentencing

If convicted, the charges of receipt and possession of child pornography each provide for a sentence of at least five years and up to 20 years in prison, at least five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000.

What Happens Next in the Case

Bendall is scheduled for sentencing on May 7, 2026.
