On the night of October 15, Gillette Stadium in Foxboro was illuminated in soft shades of pink and blue, a moving tribute to families who have experienced the devastating loss of a baby or child.

This heartfelt gesture was in recognition of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, an annual observance that honors those impacted by miscarriage, stillbirth and infant death, including SIDS and ectopic pregnancies.

Behind this powerful moment is Alisha Neal, a Wareham resident and founder of Angel Babies, a local non-profit organization dedicated to supporting families through their darkest days.

Neal, who has experienced such loss herself, created Angel Babies to provide compassion, love and guidance to families who are grieving.

When Neal saw the opportunity to have Gillette Stadium participate in this national day of remembrance, she applied via the stadium’s website, requesting that the iconic Gillette Stadium lighthouse and surrounding areas be lit in pink and blue, the symbolic colors of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness.

Much to her surprise, her request was approved.

“I was blown away they approved the request!” Neal said, reflecting on the moment she learned the news. “I knew it was going to mean a lot to so many families.”

For Neal and the families Angel Babies serves, seeing the stadium lit up was an emotional experience.

“It was beyond incredible to see the lighthouse pink and blue,” she said. “To have Gillette join us in remembering our babies means more than I could ever express...I was speechless.”

The significance of Gillette’s participation wasn’t lost on the families who were affected. Neal expressed her gratitude to the New England Patriots and the Kraft family through a heartfelt Facebook message: “Truly we cannot thank you enough for this and the continued support of our mission!! Thank you from so many!!”

As the lights shone brightly on October 15, they served as a beacon of hope and remembrance, reminding all who saw them that the loss of a child is never forgotten, and neither are the families left behind.

Thanks to Neal’s dedication and the powerful gesture from Gillette Stadium, Angel Babies continues to offer support, ensuring no family faces this unimaginable loss alone.
