BOSTON — Activists have scheduled a variety of events to remember victims of traffic crashes in Massachusetts.

On Sunday, the Massachusetts Vision Zero Coalition is organizing a series of actions to recall those who have died recently on area roads, including an elderly man killed while walking in Boston's West Roxbury neighborhood and a 24-year-old man killed biking near the Museum of Science.

Many local landmarks will be lit in yellow including the Zakim Bridge, Boston City Hall, South Station and the Government Center MBTA Station--all in Boston--and the Burns Bridge in Worcester.

There will also be a vigil on the Massachusetts Statehouse steps Sunday afternoon.

The National Safety Council says Massachusetts has seen a 21 percent increase in traffic fatalities between 2015 and 2017.
