The Olympic dominance of the U.S. women's soccer team is over.

Team USA was ousted from the tournament in Rio with a 4-3 shootout loss to Sweden in today's quarterfinals.

The teams were tied at one after extra time. Alex Morgan squared the match at one in the 77th minute for the U.S. after Sweden took the lead in the 61st minute.

The Americans were unbeaten heading into this match and had won gold the last three Olympics. (Metro Networks inc.)
