Two Women Engage in Knife Fight, One Hospitalized and One Arrested
UPDATE (2:17 p.m.): New Bedford Police have charged Danez Linda Spinner, 25, of New Bedford with mayhem, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife) and malicious damage to a motor vehicle. Police say in addition to stabbing a 24-year-old New Bedford woman, she also threw a tricycle at her car. The woman who was stabbed was transported with non life-threatening injuries. According to police, the altercation on Ashley Street began over a man.
NEW BEDFORD - New Bedford Police are investigating an apparent stabbing after a fight broke out between two women in the South End Friday.
Scanner reports indicate the fight began at 11 Ashley Street between two women both armed with knives who were reportedly trying to stab each other at 10:40 A.M.
When police arrived, one of the women was suffering from stab wounds to the face and arm. She was taken to St. Luke's Hospital and then transported to Rhode Island Hospital. Her condition is unknown at this time.
The other woman was arrested.
No other details were immediately available.
