The latest polls show Joe Biden ahead of President Donald Trump, but you'd never know it in blue Massachusetts, where the presence of Trump lawn signs transcends Biden signs. Using that metric, the president wins by a landslide – or in this case, a lawn-slide.

Have you taken a ride through the backroads of Bristol County lately? Peter Barney, one of the Kitchen Cabinet regulars, was commenting that from Attleboro to Rehoboth, Berkley to Dighton and Acushnet to Freetown, if political signs could be used as a measurement of support, Trump comes out on top.

Ever since I had the diner, I have a common bond with truck drivers. At the most recent Trump/Back the Blue support rally in Fairhaven, I had a thought-provoking conversation with Ed, a trucker who drives to Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan. He confirmed that Biden signs ran a distant third to Trump-Pence and pick-your-own-apples signs. With less than a month to go before the general election, Ed's fellow bros who hotfoot it across the country are of the same opinion and say Trump signs outnumber Biden signs substantially.

I know that signs don't vote, but look at it another way: a stranger calls and asks you to answer some poll questions. Maybe you're honest with the pollster, but then again, maybe you're not, and you spread some disinformation. But with a lawn sign adorning the front of your house, chances are much better that you're a supporter of that candidate.
