National Night Out is a national campaign for communities to come together with local law enforcement. Held on the first Tuesday of August since 1984, these events offer an opportunity for positive interactions with local police officers and gives members of the community a chance to claim their neighborhoods back from some of the negative influences in the area. 'National Night Out Against Crime' promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer and more caring places to live.

The Tri-Town National Night Out Event will be on Tuesday, August 7 at Old Rochester Regional High School. The Marion Police Department, Mattapoisett Police Department, and Rochester Police Department invite you and the family to participate in this jointly-hosted event from 5 to 8 pm.

This free event is open to the public and features food, games and fun for the family. Stop by and say hello!

There will also be a National Night Out event in New Bedford and Fairhaven as well.
