
Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest of Mattapoisett Man
MATTAPOISETT — An 18-year-old Mattapoisett man is arrested after a traffic stop leads to the discovery of drugs.
Friday, Mattapoisett Police stopped a motor vehicle traveling west on County Road for unregistered, uninsured and attached plates. The car stop led to the arrest of a passenger, 18-year-old James Sylvia of Mattapoisett.
Sylvia had in his possession quantities of Xanax pills, LSD, MDMA ("Molly," "Ecstasy"), cocaine, marijuana, two scales and $1,206 in cash.
Sylvia was charged with possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute; possession of a Class E substance with intent to distribute; possession of a Class D substance with intent to distribute; and possession of a Class B substance.
