The Mobile Market was launched in 2015 to provide low-income working families with fresh produce. Volunteers will serve hundreds of families from July to September with fresh produce donated by YMCA Southcoast’s Sharing the Harvest Community Farm, Southcoast Health, and Sid Wainer & Sons. Last year’s Mobile Market expanded to serve a site in Wareham every other week to serve more residents.

This year, the Traditional Mobile Markets will take place every Thursday from 5:30 to 7 pm in addition to Pop Up Mobile Markets, which take place every Monday from 5:30 to 7 pm. Learn more about Pop Up Mobile Markets HERE.

United Way of Greater New Bedford will host its first Traditional Mobile Market for the 2020 season on Thursday, July 9 from 5:30 to 7 pm. The market will be held at Bank Five in the North End of New Bedford, located at 1724 Acushnet Ave.

The Mobile Market’s primary focus is to remove the barriers that families often face when accessing fresh produce. It was an honor to have volunteered at this seasonal event a couple of times last year. Even in the rain, everyone was so happy and appreciative to have this opportunity available. It felt good to do good.

The distribution will take place at the following locations:
BankFive located at 1724 Acushnet Ave in New Bedford (see schedule)
BankFive located at 160 County St. in New Bedford (see schedule)
Rosebrook Event Center located at 50 Rosebrook Pl #1 in Wareham (see schedule)
