Laura Orleans is the Executive Director of the New Bedford Fishing Heritage Center. She stops by Townsquare Sunday this week to discuss the new exhibit showcasing the 'Fisherman's Strike of 1985-6.'

The Center will present several community conversations in order to engage the fishing community and the general public in exploring this history. The first of these programs, Remembering the Strike of 1985-86, will take place on Friday, November 17th at 7:00 p.m. at the National Park Theater located at 33 William Street, New Bedford. The evening will include a viewing of television coverage from the period, as well as a slide show of archival images. Community members are invited to attend and share their memories of these events. This program is jointly presented by Spinner Publications, the UMass Dartmouth Arnold M. Dubin Labor Education Center, New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park, and the New Bedford Fishing Heritage Center.
