The Plains States felt the wrath of mother nature this weekend, as a severe weather system stretched from Texas to Minnesota.

The Weather Channel reports that tornadoes were reported in five different states as a result of a severe and violent weather system. One person is dead as a result, and many more have been injured. Most of the major damage occurred on Sunday, and the same exact area could see similar weather for today (Monday) as more severe weather that could include more tornadoes is on the way.

The weather system that ravaged Shawnee, Oklahoma had been predicted as far back as last Wednesday. According to the AP, the town's Sheriff says that the warning and local coverage of the storms may be responsible for saving many lives because people were prepared. Unfortunately, the tornado directly hit Steelman Estates Mobile Home Park, which is just a little over 30 miles from Oklahoma City.
