Top 10 Travel Destinations as Booked By AAA Northeast
Christmas is back in the box for another year, the New England Patriots are on the golf course and not in the Super Bowl, and the mid-winter blues are threatening to drag you down.
So what are you going to do about it?
Plan a vacation, of course!
Ah, yes. There is nothing quite like a vacation to put a smile back on your face and a little strut in your step. Okay, now that that is settled, where would you like to go on this vacation?
I asked AAA Northeast's Public Affairs Specialist Mark Schieldrop to share the top 10 travel destinations as booked by AAA Northeast travel agents. In other words, the places we like to go to most often.
The number one domestic travel destination for folks in the Northeast continues to be Orlando, Florida. Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando Resort, SeaWorld Orlando, and LEGOLAND Florida Resort are all there. Who wouldn't want to go to Orlando?
The second-most popular travel destination is Anaheim, California. What's in Anaheim, California? Disneyland..

Las Vegas, Nevada, is the third-most popular travel destination. Las Vegas is an adult version of a Disney theme park.
New York City is fourth, followed by: Atlanta, Georgia; Phoenix, Arizona; Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas; Denver, Colorado; Chicago, Illinois; and Charlotte, North Carolina.
International travelers prefer Europe (river cruises), Aruba, London, Paris, Rome, Vancouver, Dublin, Calgary, Toronto, and Iceland.
AAA Northeast said nearly 48 million people traveled 50 miles or more from home last July 4 weekend, despite high gas prices and stubborn inflation. There is every reason to believe Americans will be on the move again this year, looking to get away from it all and recharge their batteries.
Wherever you may be heading this year, bon voyage!
