When the Ice Bucket Challenge first started popping up on my Facebook news feed, I was admittedly skeptical of what it could really do for such a terrible disease. But after seeing how much money it had raised for ALS research, I started to change my mind.

There have been thousands of videos to-date in support of the #ALSIceBucketChallenge, including celebrities, athletes, and politicians. My main concern with the challenge was that people were just doing it to receive Facebook "Likes" and popularity. But to my great surprise, the ALS Association has raised over $31 million for research and patient care!

The video below starts off as another hilarious video leading to a young man in a bikini getting soaked by icy water. But the second half of the video will surprise you and show you the true significance of the most successful ALS awareness campaign in the history of the disease.

Please be sure to watch the entire video, you won't regret it.

Note: The video contains some adult language.
