A "vote of no confidence" in the superintendent by the New Bedford Educators Association was just a rumor, according to the union president.

Following a union meeting, President Lou St. John says instead, the union will assemble a task force to sift through the concerns of teachers, and formulate recommendations to be presented to Dr. Pia Durkin.

St. John says since Durkin's installment, teachers have been under a cloud of fear.

During the meeting, teachers voiced concerns of increased micromanagement and assaults against teachers and staff members.

Also during Friday's meeting, St. John encouraged teachers not to patronize advertisers of newspapers and talk show moderators that do not support teachers.
