A group of Taunton property owners have filed suit in Federal Court hoping to block a $500 million casino in Taunton being planned by the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe.

The Boston Globe says the lawsuit claims the Federal Bureau of Indian Affairs made a mistake when it designated a 150-acre site as reservation land.

The eighteen property owners say in their complaint that traffic, noise and light from the casino will drive down property values. So far, no comment from the tribe.

The paper says among those bank-rolling the lawsuit is Neil Bluhm, who is part of Massachusetts Gaming & Entertainment, the group pushing for a casino in Brockton.
