RAYNHAM — The Raynham Police Department is investigating a serious crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV on Sunday night.

According to a press release, Raynham Police say they responded to multiple 911 calls reporting the accident near Walmart on Route 138.

At this time, police say their investigation shows that the motorcycle was traveling south on Route 138 and the driver of the SUV was traveling north. The SUV, driven by Michael Harnden, 39, of Rochester, allegedly turned to head into the Walmart parking lot when the motorcycle struck his vehicle.

When police arrived on the scene, they were able to locate the driver of the motorcycle, who is identified as Michael Faria, 36, of Taunton. Faria was transported to Rhode Island Hospital via helicopter and has sustained injuries that are believed to be life-threatening.

Police say Harnden was cooperative with police and remained at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
