A new task force was announced during a city hall event Tuesday morning.

The Task Force on Pathways for Women to a Living Wage is looking at ways to improve the economic situation for women on the South Coast.

Valerie Bassett, of the Women's Fund of Southeastern Massachusetts, says roughly 60 groups have been invited to take part in the initiative and they hope to have a report completed by the Fall.

"This group is going to come up with recommendations on how we can make it better," says bassett "our goal is that by the fall that we'll release some very solid recommendations that will be a roadmap."

Bassett says they will be looking at issues such as educational access and equal wages.
