According to a press release, the fishing vessel Jack M. reported an equipment malfunction that spilled an unknown quanity of diesel fuel into the harbor.

The Greater New Bedford area — including the towns of Dartmouth and Fairhaven — is set to receive more than $2.3 million in state Seaport Economic Council grants for projects relating to coastal access and the maritime industry.

A One-Million-Dollar plus project has been completed at Union Wharf. It allows for Police and Fire responder boats to be docked at the same location.

Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito visited Fairhaven Wednesday to tour Union Wharf and learn about the town's coastal economy.
