The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded New Bedford programs more than $2 million in grants to provide assistance and services to people experiencing homelessness.
At a press conference Wednesday morning, New Bedford officials unveiled a 22-point plan focused on increasing the supply of housing to address the growing cost of housing in the city.
A former New Bedford School Committee member has been named as the city's next Housing and Community Development director, the mayor's office announced in a press release Friday.
