The Sox' season opener should have been at Fenway.

Despite finishing the month with a trip to the disabled list, thanks to a lefty shoulder issue, Boston Red Sox ace Chris Sale was rewarded for his dominant July, Thursday.

For the third straight year, Chris Sale will be throwing the first pitch for the AL All-Star team as they battle the NL squad Tuesday night.

It took a parting with the consensus top prospect in baseball and a couple other high profile pieces, but the Boston Red Sox finally struck a deal with the Chicago White Sox to get All-Star starting pitcher Chris Sale to Beantown, Tuesday.
