This Massachusetts Bakery Offers Mind-Blowing Hyper-Realistic Fruit Pastries
A sweet new spot has just popped up in Mattapoisett, bringing new life to a former bakery.
"What started as a hobby from our home making sweet treats eventually grew into birthday cakes, wedding cakes, and custom desserts," Sweet Art owner Brittney Araujo said.
Now, she's got herself a storefront all her own, the former Magpies location on County Road in Mattapoisett.

A French-Inspired Concept Tucked Inside Mattapoisett
"Our concept is inspired by a French-style bakery, but we also incorporate flavors and influences from different cultures represented by me, my husband and our team," Araujo said. She's been baking for six years and throughout that time, she's mastered the art of creating pastries that are both beautiful to look at and equally delicious.
The Viral Social Media Post That Started It All
"Sweet Art began in 2020 when I randomly made a social media post asking who would be interested in chocolate-covered strawberries for Valentine’s Day," Araujo said. "To my surprise, I received a huge response."

Hyper-Realistic Pastries Arrive on the SouthCoast
When stopping by for a sweet treat, make sure you try one of Araujo's trompe l’oeil fruit pastries. "These are hyper-realistic handcrafted desserts designed to look exactly like real fruit," she said. "The concept originated in France and has become incredibly popular on social media. They have quickly become our signature item and something truly unique to the SouthCoast."

In addition to the fruit pastries, the menu includes croissants, cookies, dot cakes, loaded cake slices, signature lattes (including crème brûlée and tiramisu) and loaded iced teas.
Welcome to the SouthCoast, Sweet Art!
