In a historic recall election, Fall River Mayor Will Flanagan has been ousted and Bristol County District Attorney Sam Sutter will replace him.

During Flanagan's concession speech, he told supporters his administration will be remembered for its accomplishments.

During Sutter's victory speech, he told the people of Fall River he will fulfill his campaign promises.

Flanagan was recalled by a more than a 2-1 margin. He recieved 4,393 votes while Sutter collected 6,021, according to an unofficial count.

Governor Deval Patrick is expected to appoint a new District Attorney to fill Sutter's vacancy before he leaves office January 8th.
