Suspect Identified in Dozens of Car/House Breaks Throughout Southcoast
MARION - Marion Police say they've identified a suspect in dozens of car breaks throughout the Southcoast.
Police say they responded to reports of a home invasion and several car breaks on Converse Road in Marion Saturday morning. Residents on the second floor of the home were unaware of the break-in, and several sets of keys were stolen, along with a Toyota Avalon.
A joint investigation with Mattapoisett, Dartmouth, and New Bedford Police led to the discovery of the stolen Toyota on North Front Street in New Bedford.
A suspect was identified, and while police were interviewing the individual, the suspect apparently suffered a medical emergency and was transported to St. Luke's Hospital.
Police obtained a search warrant for the suspect's apartment, and recovered many items that had been reported stolen from cars and homes across the Southcoast.
A stolen Toyota Tacoma was also recovered in Marion in the same area the Avalon had been stolen from. Police believe the incidents are connected.
The case remains under investigation.
