Superintendent Pia Durkin says a recent vote questioning her ability to lead is nothing personal.

She is still focused on the well-being of students and teachers and hopes to keep lines of communication open to address problems that still haven't been resolved.

The New Bedford Educators Association took a vote of "no confidence" during a meeting at Keith Middle School last Friday. Voting is still taking place Tuesday and Wednesday and a formal announcement will be made afterwards.

Mayor Jon Mitchell says he respects the right the NBEA has to take this vote, but hopes the union can work with Durkin and the School Committee to make sure the students don't suffer as a result.
