The New Bedford Homeless Service Providers Network is streamlining the way people can access services to aid the homeless.

As of December 1st, people in need, or those advocating for the homeless must call Catholic Social Services to get the ball rolling on services.

Catholic Social Services will have a complete inventory list, including beds available in the area.

Network President Carl Alves says the new program should mean quicker services for those in need. "It is one place where we can get basic information on people that are in need and pool our resources so you don't have to go to multiple agencies to identify what's available and what's not available," said Alves.

The hotline number for those in need is 1-800-homeless.
