DENNIS, Mass. (AP) — Marine mammal rescuers have responded to multiple reports of dolphins getting stranded after swimming near the shores of Wellfleet and Brewster in Cape Cod Bay.

International Fund for Animal Welfare spokeswoman Shawna Moos tells the Cape Cod Times that two white-sided dolphins were stranded off Brewster on Saturday. The one surviving dolphin was released at West Dennis Beach.

Moos says rescuers and town harbormaster officials used vessels to herd about 30 dolphins that were swimming off Blackfish Creek in Wellfleet back out to sea on Friday.

Three dolphins were released at West Dennis Beach Thursday after becoming stranded off Wellfleet.

Moos says rescuers are asking anyone who sees a stranded dolphin to stay back and call a rescue hotline.
